Your vehicle must be in our local database to renew online the first time. Provide your new Sumner County address and vehicle information. Use one of the options below. The regular plate renewal fee in Sumner County is $80.00 (State-$39 Sumner County-$51 =$80.) There is an additional fee by mail ($5.00 for a plate $2.00 for a decal only.)

We are currently processing most registration renewals by the following methods:
- Mail – Renew by mail at the address below. You will need to note your new Sumner County address on your renewal notice. Checks should be made payable to: Sumner County Clerk.
- In-Person – The County Administration Building in Gallatin or the Hendersonville MVD Office. For safety reasons the number of customers allowed inside the office will be limited. https://sumnertags.com/information/locations
